Community

Read our press releases.

South Shore Co-Operative Bank has a long history of giving back to the communities in which it has a presence. South Shore Co-Operative Bank focuses on health, education, and housing initiatives by contributing volunteer hours, in-kind services, and charitable gifts. The Bank concentrates its efforts on organizations that involve improving quality of life for low- to moderate-income populations and creative, community economic development initiatives.

We're a cooperative bank, working in partnership with neighborhood families and businesses for a brighter future. We're a community bank, making a difference in the communities we serve. Throughout our history our dedicated employees have given their time and talents in service.

Here are a few examples of our community involvement.

Checking For Charity

South Shore Co-Operative Bank donates $10.00 to a local, education-based non-profit organization for each checking account opened. The Checking For Charity program began in 2000.

In East Bridgewater we support EB PIE (East Bridgewater Partners In Education).

In Quincy we support the Lincoln Hancock Community School through the Quincy School / Community Partnership.

In Weymouth, our Checking For Charity partner is the Abigail Adams Middle School.

Partners Program

South Shore Co-Operative Bank supports South Shore Day Care Services through RISE (Reading Is So Exciting). The program is designed to stimulate reading at home, to inspire children to read, and to provide participants with ownership of good books. Early exposure to literacy is critical to later reading and academic success, according to research conducted by South Shore Day Care.
