Today's CD rates

CDs pay a fixed rate of return on your principal for a specified period of time, such as 6 months or five years.

Interest payments are compounded monthly and then credited to the account. You rate is locked in for whatever term you've purchased, and won't change regardless of what's happening in the marketplace. A CD is insured by the FDIC for up to $100,000 ($250,000 for certain retirement accounts) and by the SIF for anything above that. Invest with confidence.
